Gulf Breeze

Gulf Breeze is the peninsula between Pensacola Bay and Santa Rosa Sound — the bit you cross on the way to Pensacola Beach, and a place plenty of people never stop in. It's quiet, green, and closer to the beach than anywhere on the mainland.

The location argument

You're a few minutes from the Bob Sikes bridge to Pensacola Beach and about fifteen from downtown Pensacola across the bay bridge. That puts both the beach and the city inside an easy drive, which is the whole reason the housing here holds its price.

What's actually here

Parks, marinas, and the Naval Live Oaks area of Gulf Islands National Seashore, which has shaded trails and a quiet shoreline on the sound — a good option on a day the Gulf is too rough to enjoy. Shopping and restaurants cluster along Gulf Breeze Parkway.

Good to know

  • Two bridges: the bay bridge to Pensacola, the Bob Sikes bridge (tolled) to the beach
  • Santa Rosa County schools
  • Naval Live Oaks offers sound-side trails and calm water when the Gulf is rough
