How you pay
Escambia County collects the toll electronically. There is no cash booth. Use SunPass, E-Pass, E-ZPass, another interoperable transponder, a tolling app, or TOLL-BY-PLATE from SunPass. If you roll through with no pass, the plate is billed: $1 per crossing plus $2.50 once per monthly cycle.
When it backs up
9–11:30am
Summer Saturdays and holidays. Leave before 9 or after lunch.
4–7pm
Same peak days. Mid-afternoon arrivals are usually easier.
Air show, holiday weekends, and big beach concerts turn the span into a parking lot. Check the calendar the night before.
