Pensacola Beach Access & Parking

Casino Beach / Boardwalk — free public lots behind the boardwalk and overflow east/west. Restrooms, lifeguards in season, food and bars walkable. Fills by mid-morning on summer Saturdays; arrive early or come after 3pm.

Quietwater Beach (sound side) — calmer water, boardwalk Village shops nearby. Better with toddlers; less Gulf-wave drama.

Park East (east end) — free parking, thinner crowds, shallow water. Little shade — bring a tent. Good default when Casino is packed.

Bob Sikes Bridge — $1 toll toward the beach only (no charge returning). Cash or SunPass; summer weekends back up after 10am.

Fort Pickens Road runs the west end of Santa Rosa Island — dunes, historic fort, quieter Gulf beaches.

Expect a National Park vehicle fee (multi-day pass covers the family for the week). Cell service gets spotty; download maps first.

Gates and hours can change with storms or staffing — check the National Park Service page the morning you go.

Quieter barrier-island beaches on the Alabama line — longer drive from downtown, fewer boardwalk crowds.

Johnson Beach (Gulf Islands) — fee area, calm stretches, good when you want space. Bring cash/card for the gate and pack shade.

Public county accesses exist along Perdido Key Dr — read posted signs for hours and restrictions.

Bayview Park (East Hill) — bay swimming, playground, dog beach. Not the Gulf, but a solid local afternoon without the bridge.

Downtown waterfront parks — fine for a stroll and sunset views; not a swim destination.

Leave valuables out of the car. Beach lots are busy and opportunistic theft happens.
