48 Hours in Pensacola
A weekend that hits downtown, the beach, and a museum without feeling rushed.
You've got two days. Here's a locals-approved itinerary that skips the tourist traps and still shows you why people move here and never leave.
Friday evening
Start on Palafox Street for a walk from the waterfront up through the Seville and Historic District. Grab dinner downtown, then catch live music at a Palafox bar or a rooftop.
If it's a first-Friday, Gallery Night takes over Palafox with music, food trucks, and open galleries.
Saturday
8am: coffee and pastries downtown.
9am: Palafox Market (year-round Saturdays) — produce, art, and local makers.
11am: Head to Pensacola Beach. Park at Casino Beach, swim, walk the boardwalk.
2pm: Late lunch on the water — seafood shack or Gulf-front bar.
5pm: Sunset at Fort Pickens or the Pensacola Beach pier.
Sunday
Morning: National Naval Aviation Museum. Free admission, three floors of aircraft, and the Blue Angels' home base.
Lunch: Downtown brunch or a Gulf Breeze fish house.
Afternoon: Choose your own adventure — kayak Big Lagoon, walk Fort Pickens, or bookstore-hop in East Hill.
