Pensacola Trash & Recycling Pickup
How garbage and recycling work in the city and county — and why your Airbnb schedule might differ from the house next door.
Trash day in Pensacola depends on where you are: City of Pensacola vs Escambia County routes aren’t the same map. Visitors in short-term rentals should follow whatever the host posted — guessing wrong means a full bin sitting curb-side for a week.
Find your schedule
City residents: use the City of Pensacola sanitation / solid waste tools or the number on your utility bill.
Unincorporated Escambia: county waste contractor schedules apply — search Escambia County solid waste with your address.
Gulf Breeze, Pensacola Beach, and Perdido have their own setups. Don’t assume Pensacola city rules follow you over the bridge.
Recycling basics
Carts and accepted materials change with the contractor. When in doubt, rinse containers and keep plastic bags out of the recycling cart — bags tangle the sorting line.
Hurricane debris and bulk piles are special pickup events, not regular Tuesday trash. After a storm, watch city/county socials for curb rules.
Rentals
Hosts: put pickup day in the binder. Guests will ask.
Guests: if the bin is already stuffed when you arrive, message the host before adding another bag of takeout containers.
