Family-Friendly Pensacola
Where to go with kids that doesn't involve a screen or a meltdown.
Pensacola is unusually kid-friendly for a Gulf Coast city — mostly because so much of the fun is outside and free. Here's what actually works with children.
Free and easy
Naval Aviation Museum — free, huge, and you can climb into some aircraft.
Palafox Pier waterfront playground — right by downtown restaurants.
Bayview Park in East Hill — playground, dog park, and a bay-front beach for wading.
Beach with kids
Quietwater Beach on the Sound side of Pensacola Beach has calm, shallow water — much easier for toddlers than the Gulf side.
Portable shade beats umbrella-fighting. And bring a mesh bag for shells so they dry.
Rainy day
Pensacola MESS Hall (science center) downtown, Pensacola Museum of Art, or the historic village on Zaragoza Street.
Bowling alleys and indoor trampoline parks are along Nine Mile Road.
